pounds of pulling force for ATV's and up to 4,000 pounds of pulling force for some UTV's. It is designed for full radial torque and allows the option of
winch transfer from front to rear. Many times the winch would be best
located on the rear of the machine instead of the front.
The two leading causes of winch failure are
"Contamination" and/or "Cable Stacking". Placing the
winch at a higher location as we do, minimizes "Water and Mud Contamination"
and allows the operator to see and work with the winch, helping to prevent
"Cable
Stacking". Contamination is when mud and water get into the bushings,
gears and motor of the winch causing serious damage. Cable stacking is
common place and is a much more serious problem than most people realize.
When rolling in the cable of the winch, it will normally stack to one
side or the other. In this event the cable will out-grow the parameters
of the winch and can literally tear it apart. Keep in mind, if you can't
see your winch in operation, you cannot prevent this from happening.
Think about this. Your winch is not going
to "Cable Stack" or "Birds Nest" until you are using
it. If you are using it, most likely it's because you are in need of it.
If your cable stacks to a point of damaging the cable or winch, you will
simply be out of luck right when you need it the most. Don't let this
