HINT: The plow springs should be properly tensioned before plowing. The plow springs should be taunt and the eyebolt should be under tension. If the eyebolt is loose feeling or sloppy, the springs need to be tightened.
To tighten the springs, undo the two 5/16" hex nuts on each eyebolt. Tighten the nut closest to the spring until the eyebolt is under tension. Tighten the top nut firmly onto the bottom one.
Check the plow spring tension:
- Before Plowing
- After each instance the plow blade folds over from hitting a stationary object.
If slack in the eyebolt is detected, retighten the springs. Doing so will maintain plow performance.
