A #10YKK zipper keeps the bags closed and a storm flap over the zipper keeps the weather out. All of the seams are taped to prevent fraying and all the stress points are reinforced by bar tacks or box stitches. The wide, comfortable handles support the weight well without digging into your hands. Full-metal hardware attaches the shoulder strap to bags...no wimpy plastic stuff here.
